I have weekly NST's now and an ultrasound to check fluid levels (Just due to Factor V and being considered high risk). Today the baby didn't really move during my NST. In the past heartrate during more restful times has been 120's. Today it was upper 130's with no movement. She checked my fluid which looked great and while on the u/s tried to wake the baby up and was able to see 4 movements and then said everything looks good. I feel the baby move alllll the time. I would say this baby is pretty active. I think it was just bad timing.
Anyway... we talk some more about other stuff and then she tells me she wants me to come in again on Monday and not wait until next Thurs appt. I asked her if something was wrong...she says there is nothing that she saw that is wrong she just has a 'feeling.' So instead of one more appt before my scheduled c/s she wanted me to come in Mon/Fri/Mon and then Thurs c/s as planned.
This just seems like a lot and crazy to me if there is nothing specific wrong. and it would really mess up my work schedule and I only have limited time left before being gone 12wks... so she agreed to keep appt as is and just to call her if anything changes.
But it has me worrying...and questioning if I should just listen to her even though she admits it's only a 'hunch.'
wwyd?
Re: weird appt...what would you do?
it's not just an earlier appt...it's really adding 2 appts which both would require time off of work to schedule now. I did ask her to clarify and she said she has a feeling that my fluid levels may decrease or something but confirmed that the levels were fine today...and they always have been.
This is pretty much me as well. I have Factor V which makes me high risk, plus my fluid levels were slightly elevated, so I have to now go see the doctor 3 times a week (1 for my weekly appointment, and then 2 for the NST). While it can be an "inconvenience", I do agree that the health of the baby comes before work (I am sure you know this). Besides finding out that I had the Factor V, I have had a pretty uneventful pregnancy, which is good considering having the blood disorder. Like stated above, anything can happen this late in the game, and it's all just precautions to make sure you have the healthiest baby possible.
I would go to the extra appointments. I understand it's taking time off of work which may not be the most "convenient" for you- but really your doctor wouldn't suggest additional appointments for nothing. You go to this doctor for a reason, I'd trust her judgement unless you have some reason absolutely not to.
Thanks for the advice everyone... I totally agree that if there was a reason for concern I would drop everything to make whatever appts needed. I guess what has made this different is that nothing is wrong and she is suggesting this off of a hunch... she completely admits it's just a hunch and maybe she's being too paranoid.
I kinda have this weird feeling that I will be going in before these added appts anyways... started having some contractions last night...and just started having one while typing this... so who knows.
