3rd Trimester

Decreased fetal movement...or so I thought!

So, at 30 1/2 weeks, I had my first new mom "freak-out" today.  Woke up and couldn't remember the last time my little one kicked and waited and waited the better part of the morning to fell those little feet.  I have what I consider to be a very active baby on a routine I can usually predict with some certainty.  So when baby decided to stray from this norm,I was so scared something was really wrong!

Good news, after going to the Dr. and being on the fetal monitor for a while, the little one performed like a champ! US showed good fluid levels and a very active baby!!

Guess this is what I suspect to be the new running theme in my life...my child does something to worry me and I run to the Dr. like an over anxious new mom! Oh well, good to know all is well!

  • Better safe then sorry!!!! My LO did that to me the other morning, and I had to pull the doppler I hardly ever use and find her. She spent the rest of the day kicking the crap out of me!

  • Don't worry I ran to the OB today to because I felt pain on one side and could swear only one baby was moving....(the baby on the opposite site of the pain). I got there and on the fetal monitor they could only find one heartbeat (so at this point I decide total hysteria is the right course of action and cry) finally we did an ultrasound and the pain is caused by 1 baby in an akward position-- putting her feet over by other baby so the movements are both of theirs together...and they are both perfectly healthy babies.

Moral of the story, don't feel bad--- we all do it because we love them, until I got pregnant I wouldn't go to the doc unless I was near my deathbed--now I don't even think twice about it!

  • I had the same scare yesterday. My little guy usually wakes me up with hiccups or movement at 7 or 8 in the morning but he was sleeping until 9:00 this time. It's so scary, isn't it? We get used to that movement and feel so empty without it. Glad all is well with you :)
