Flip Cam

Does anyone have any good recommendations?  I am debating on which one to buy, and I must admit I don't know much about electronics so the simpler the better!  I like that the Kodak Playsport will take stills and also is waterproof but does anyone have that and prefer it to the Flip Cam....or what's the difference!?!?!

The flip cam is being discontinued - they aren't going to have support after next year.

I almost got one for Mother's day, but the people at Best Buy showed me how bad quality video it takes.  It's terrible with motion cause when you get it up on the TV, it's very blurry and pixelated.  It's best when things aren't in motion.    We are getting a small digital camcorder instead.

I actually posted this on the September boards this weekend and was told that they are discontinuing and the quality isn't that great.

I have it , got it last year for xmas from the hubby. At the time it was all the hype but it does work for outings. We have used it for holidays, zoos and birthdays.  Its not great for staying focused but i haven't had any blurring problems as of yet.

I hate my Flip, I can take better videos with my iPhone!  The battery dies really quickly too, which was one of the biggest downsides.

I have a mino HD and I love it. But like PP said it's obsolete because of the iphone. If you don't want to pay for data for an iphone you can look into an i-touch instead. from what I understand it is like an iphone without the phone service (i don't have one) but then you can do more with it than just take video.

sorry for the long long link, but thats the one i have. It isnt bad, takes good quality video, doesnt blur or pixelate during movement. My only qualms about it is you hear a clicking noise during playback when you use the zoom feature, and at nighttime or in low light it is useless as there is no night light feature (at least i havent found it). But just to record DS doing cute stuff, it works great.

I have the flip and haven't had any issues.  The only thing that bugs me is that it's battery operated.

We have the Kodak Playsport, and love it!  I don't know that I would trust how waterproof it actually is (have read a few bad reviews regarding people taking it underwater), but I think it would be ok out in the rain or something.  I think it takes pretty good videos for being such a little camera!

Like PPs, Flip is being discontinued but I like mine.  It's easy to use, it doesn't require any cables or hardware just plug into a USB port (I love that).  We've been using it for 3 years and I have no complaints.  I like it much better than the video features on my digital cameras and find it handier than the handheld that I took back.
