December 2010 Moms

OK, I'm going in! (NBR)

I'm going to paint the office.  Finally.  Then, hopefully, I will be inspired to finish the rest of the house.  We even already bought the paint - 4th of July weekend.  lol

Seriously, is it because I'm older or because I have a child that makes me overly optimistic & incredibly foolish?  Stick out tongue

What crazy things are you all up to?

  • Good luck. I painted the livingroom and the hall not long ago and I keep looking at my kitchen and down the stairs lol maybe one day I will get to it. I couldn't imagine painting with Kiya on the move I'm sure there would of been more of a mess then what I already made.

  • I'm painting my attic this week! (I'm turning it into a playroom).  Good luck with your painting endeavor!

As someone who has painted my entire house, I think taking the time to tape off all the trim makes such a difference...time consuming at first, but when the messy part comes, it makes life so much easier!

  • I do not envy you.  DH and I had never painted a room before, so when we decided to paint the nursery when I was 5 months pregnant we had no idea how long it would take.  It only took 2 nights, but I remember it being a LOT of work.

I'm currently teaching myself how to crochet and knit.  It's way more complicated than I thought it would be. lol

I used to be a big deal.  Now I'm just old.

We are in process of doing our entire house.  We did the upstairs (3 bedrooms & totally gutted/re-did the bathroom) last year.  Now we have the other 2/3 of the house.  :)

Sadly, I cannot tape to save my arse!  However, I can paint a really straight line & we have the ceilings/walls different colors.  And the bonus - we are replacing the trim!  They messed it up pretty bad, so it's just easier to replace.

Yeah, your house is so nice looking now though!

I am cheating & painting the kitchen cabinets!  I hate the crap-job yellow the last owners put on it!  It's all runny & not cute.  At. All.  Some year, I hope to just re-do the kitchen, but I will settle for not awful!

Yuck I would paint them too. My friend painted her kitchen this bright god awful yellow I feel I need sunglasses when I go in, it's that blinding. If you need any help or a sitter let me know :)

  • Good luck!  We've been living with hideous walls since we moved into our house 3 years ago.  The previous owners loved tacky wallpaper and accent walls.  DH thinks we should just plan our decor around them. Riiight.   Unfortunately, we have really high ceilings, so I practically need scaffolding to get up to the top to remove/repaint.  Painting is such a great fix for a room, I'm sure you'll be so glad to have it done.
