February 2012 Moms

Everyone says boy, is it wrong I want girl?Anyone else?

Everyone says I am having a boy.. even my mom and DH.... my best friend's 2 year old saw me 2 days before my BFP and first thing out of her mouth was "Steph, Baby".... and sure enough she was right. Then today we asked her what I am having and she kept saying Boy.

I want a health baby no matter what, but I was sorta 51% girl and 49% boy( I coach cheer and love pink and ruffles, and didnt grow up with a girly girl mom and always said I wanted that for my daughter)....

Anyone else feeling this? I dont want to be complaining, cause I am so thrilled to be pregnant and will cherish either sex we find out we are having... just cant help but have a little more pull to have a daughter!

hee. You really do want one, don't you? *hugs*

I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting a girl and admitting it, even if you do end up having a boy... :) You'll love the baby either way!

  • I'm torn between what I want more.  I think DH wants a girl and I kind of do too, but then I look at my sister and my nephew's relationship and I just love it.  I think part of what makes me want a girl is because both of my sisters (one due in Sept and one due in Dec) are both having girls.  I think it would be neat to have 3 girls.

Before our NT scan, I really felt like it was a girl.  Now I feel like it's a boy.  Not sure why.

  • I was so pro girl, but now I've switched to pro boy. Like you, either way I'll be thrilled but I can understand what you're saying. Healthy is a must but, I'll admit to being a little more excited if it turns out to be a boy over a girl.

  • You should be proud of yourself for being willing to admit what you want!  I don't think there's anything wrong with expressing your desires, when you know that you will be thrilled with either sex. :)

  • The fact that other people think you're having a boy means absolutely nothing. You still might have a girl.

  • I totally feel you on this. I have a girl already and at first I thought well it would be so cool to have another girl and then they would be sisters! But now I totally changed my mind and want a boy so bad. I feel bad at times and try to convince myself that either is fine. I know DH would be thrilled if it was a boy. On another note just cause they are saying its a boy doesnt mean it will be. I swear with DD every one thought it was boy I was even convinced. But she was all girl!

  • Since we have two girls, I'd like to have a boy.  I'm telling friends and family that I have no preference.  I learned my lesson last time.  Someone told me that she was sorry after the 20 week scan, and it made me feel horrible.

  • Oh yeah, I am really saying I dont care when anyone asks, and for the most part I really dont care what sex. Im just saying if I could choose, I would probably lean more to a girl only cause I know what to do with a girl and boys seem to always be exploring and doing rough and tough "boy" games. DH and his brother have told me stories about themselves as a kid and Im serious surprised neither of then ever got seriously hurt!

DH's mom said she didnt know what she would have done with a girl since she always wanted boys. I know that regardless of what people say you get what you get... however I think its funny how EVERYONE says boy!

  • I'm sure DH wanted a boy last time but I was thrilled it was a girl. Now I think he would really like a girl and of course a boy. Everyone thought it was a boy last time so what do they know? It's ok to have preferences because once you have the baby you will totally be in love!

  • I've been having girl dreams. The first was the night before I found out I was pregnant, woke up from meeting my daughter in a dream and got my BFP. Since them I've had several girl dreams and only one boy dream. I am convinced it's a girl and I do have my hopes up for one. As much as I will love whatever baby this ends up being, it will be a shock to handle if it's a boy after I've convinced myself it's a girl for 5 months. Tongue Tied

  • I want a girl and so does my husband.  But I have feelings it's a boy.  I'll be thrilled either way, (and I know so will you) but I hear you and I think it's okay to have a preference

  • i "know" i'm having a boy... i have always "known". i've always told everyone it was a boy...for the last 10 years or so Wink. my bff thinks it'd be hilarious if we get pronounced "girl" because of me always "knowing".

ETA: i'd prefer a girl..but over the last 10 years, i've gotten myself used to the fact that this baby will be a boy. i can't wait to see what really comes out! Smile

  • Ha, I would love a little boy but as my grampa says "As soon as you hold that baby in your arms it will be exactly what you wanted!"

  • I am in the same boat only everyone is telling me (and hoping) it's a girl (I feel boy) and I want a girl. So not only will I be disappointed, my whole family will be to name a few! LOL. Don't get me wring, I will absolutely love a son, but I prefer a girl if I had the choice. My fiance also wants a girl, but everything is telling me this is a boy - no idea why - maybe so I won't be disappointed if I am told it's a boy. :)

I think a lot of people feel this way and have a preference! :)

  • I am in the same boat, everyone keeps telling me it will be a boy and I even think it too, we REALLY want another DD but we will take what we can get ;)

  • I know how you feel. I really want a boy. I will be totally grateful and ecstatic for a happy healthy baby and I will love it just as much if its a girl. But it will honestly probably take some time to get use to because I really want a boy.

  • I shamelessy admit I really want a little girl. People have been telling me they think it is a girl, but I think they may just be telling me that because they think it's what I want to hear! ;-)

  • I'm the exact opposite! I want a boy but everyoneeee else in my life is saying girl. My aunt even said to my mom " i dont know why we're even talking about it, we KNOW its gonna be a girl!"

Theyre just having fun too and everyone, you included, are going to be thrilled with whatever it is :)
