Going back to work after the baby is born. I would love to be able to work at home, but there really aren't too many options for nurses who want to work from home.
I 100% agree. I would love to be able to stay home after the baby is born. I am hoping I cut work down to 3 or 4 days a week (I work M-F now) but I haven't talked to my boss yet and not sure if he will go for that. :-(
Trying for #1 since 5/2010
12/2010-hysteroscopy done to remove uterine polyps

I want to as well. Not sure if it's possible and I am a teacher so jobs are few and far between and leaving a job isn't very wise if you're hoping for a new one, however, I already know I'll be HORRIBLE at leaving the baby.
I just watched the episode of "Friday Night Lights" last night on Netflix when Tami "tries" to leave Baby Gracie at daycare and she can't. I warned FH that would be me, thankfully his reply was, "Oh I know", so at least he's prepared. Good man. :O)

It really sucks, especially if you don't enjoy your job and would really prefer to stay home. I work four days/week and would really rather work half that.
At least there are lots of nursing jobs that have odd/flexible hours, right?
I work 3 nights a week. The current plan is to work Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights so Daddy only has to take off 1 day a week to stay home to take care of baby. This won't work the one weekend a month he has his Guard drill, but would be fine for the rest. I also work 72 hours a pay period and may drop down to 60, which would have me 3 nights one week and 2 nights the next. I think maybe I'm just tired and emotional today.
I know it's hard, but please try to think positive. The more you dread something that is inevitable, the worse you're making it for yourself. Especially considering you have a good 9-10 months to let those feelings fester and grow. Try to look at the positives. And if you really want to stay home, work on a plan to make that happen.
I'm really, really hoping I don't have to go back. At this point the only reason I would have to go back is for financial reasons (so we can pay our bills...stupid bills :-P). The next 6 months will be spent trying to get my writing career off the ground so I can bring in income and still stay at home with the baby. I don't like my job to begin with, and I know I'm not going to want to leave the baby. Wish me luck!
That's pretty amazing--you're really lucky to be able to work it with minimal need for child care! It sucks that you and your DH won't have time off together, but it's worth it for the family you're growing into.
