Babies: 3 - 6 Months

4 month wakeful period????

Never heard of this. Can someone explain exactly what happens during this time and how long it lasts, cause I think that my DS might be in this stage.
My DS will be 4 months this week and he was doing pretty good taking naps during the day and at night he was sleeping for 5 to 6 hours a stretch. However, this past week was horrible. He wouldn't sleep more than 20-30min naps and at night he is waking every 2-3 hours.

I think it's different for all babies... I think our LO went through it already and had about 3 or 4 days of terrible night sleeping. But, now she's back to her normal sleeping patterns.
I think the 4 month wakeful is baby's sleeping habits change due to moving through light and deeper sleeps when the first few months they are mostly deep sleepers.
