Anyone from Maine?

We are looking to start a family tradition of going to a beach town every year. My DH used to go to Maine. He said old orchard Beach was a nice place. Anyone from near there? is the alot to do with kids?

    OOB is awesome! The beach itself is fun, and then there's the boardwalk with the carnival games and rides. Funtown/Splashtown is nearby and there's a few other places you can go. Freeport isn't too far away. If you decide to stay in Freeport, you could camp at Winslow Park which is right on the ocean.

    We're actually going there this weekend! There's a ton to do there. Beach, movies, bowling, mini golf, restaurants,/..... I guess I'm saying adult things because we're going without DD. Stick out tongue

    There's also a zoo I think about 30ish minutes south?

    Edit: How could I forget about Funtown/Splashtown!??! Must go.

    DH and I went to Old Orchard Beach on your honeymoon. It was so cool! I can't wait till my LO is big enough to take there. It was a lot of fun.

    BAH this talk is making me miss my hometown...I would love to trade in our 100+ degree weather for the 70-80 degree weather there.

    But then I'll wanna come back here for the winter...much less harsh :)
