Secondary IF

Something to consider...

I know NFP has a bad rap all around BUT I want to throw this out there for those struggling w/ 2IF/RPL/IF. After my last m/c, someone of Dh's sport msg board suggested the Creighton Model aka NFP. https://creightonmodel.com/

Its pretty in depth and these trained ob/gyns look for biomarkers in your chart to clue them in to your personal issues. https://www.naprotechnology.com/ No cookie cutters!!

This isn't for just Catholics by any means! I've been very pleased with the process so far and am really looking forward to my upcoming ob/gyn appt in Sept to discuss my biomarkers (don't have great insurance right now).

I'm really please because I feel like I am being heard finally! Where as past ob/gyn and specialists have passed me off, ignored me, told me IVF was in my future or told me to just keep trying. BS!

HTH someone who has been as frustrated and ignored as I've been! :-)

  • How is this different from charting?

Been doing that for many years.

  • I have been charting, too, on my own and later under the supervision of a fertility acupuncturist. I feel pretty well-versed so I am curious to see if there is a difference with this method -- are there biomarkers in addition to basal body temperature (bbt), cervical mucus and cervical position? I would be very interested to hear what they are.

Charting has been very helpful to me. When my charts revealed a luteal phase defect (short in duration and up/down temps) my RE listened to me and agreed it should be an area of focus for treatment. My temps before O also show that my body seems to be about ready to go, then it pauses, then goes for it. This is likely a clinical issue. Also, we had a couple IUIs that were performed too early so the charts helped me to time intercourse closer to O.

Hope this method helps you pinpoint your issues too. Good luck!

-- wait, why does NFP have a bad rap? My family is Unitarian (the Catholics used to burn us at the stake for being witches - ha ha) and I use it. I am thankful for NFP developments regardless of who makes them. Charting your own body cycles is what Mother Nature intended us to do. It is not a religious or political statement!
