i've been exclusively bfing my 4 wk old. she's gained enough so i'm assuming my supply is fine. trying to pump once a day to introduce one bottle a day. very unsuccessful at my right breast-a few drops only. switching to my other even tho my right was not used in the last feeding and therefore should have plenty. any thoughts?
You have to learn to letdown for the pump. So, don't stress too much yet. It is hard sometimes. Try looking at a picture of your LO, smelling some clothing, etc. Also, hearing water run sometimes helps women letdown.

ditto PP. one thing that really helped me when I first started pumping was to think about when i was pushing DS out and when they first laid him on my chest. Now I cant think about anything. letdown best when I am surfing the net or reading.

thanks to both replies. took a break, ate some breakfast and tried to relax. am trying again right now and it's going slow but at least we're getting something!
I usually pump first thing in the morning, so I have tons of milk from the one I did not feed from, and I put LO in front of me in his bouncy chair and we talk while I pump. He loves the noise of the pump, and seeing the milk. He is 12 weeks old now, and I do the same with one bottle of day. Good luck!
I take really deep, slow breaths and try to imagine myself sinking into the chair. I also look at photos and videos of DD on my phone.
Compressions also help. I kind of push the milk out by pushing down from my collar bone down to the flange, and from under my armpit over to the flange.
