Why do they DO this?

With one thing and another, DS didn't get to sleep last night until 10pm (2 hours later than usual).

Still up before 7. Boo hiss!!

Anyone want to bet that this kid who won't sleep now will need dynamite to get him out of bed when he's a teenager?

Re: Why do they DO this?

  • My guys are the same.exact.way. If they are up late, for say, fireworks, they are still up at their normal crack of down time.

The only thing that is keeping me sane is the revenge I have when they are teenagers. I.cannot.wait to wake them for school or on weekends...

yes I know I am evil.

  • that's been us the last 2 nights.  I can hear DS up upstairs already.  Yesterday wasn't pretty, I can't imagine what today will be like.  Definitely going to bed early tonight! (but, with my luck DD will take a nap today and be up until 11).

  • I'll take it, though, if he keeps up the potty training. I still can't believe he made it with only one accident yesterday.

That's awesome!  He's on his way.  Has he pooped yet?

Would you hate me if I told you that I tell my kids its still the middle of the night if they wake up before 7am?

  • I tell him that it's still night time but he doesn't believe me. Darned daylight saving time.

Hasn't pooped, but I got a dose of Miralax into him last night and spiked his Cocoa Puffs this morning. It's only a matter of time. LOL

That's why I never let my kids stay up late.  It's just not worth it.  They are so awful when they don't get enough sleep.

when C was younger he'd sleep in.  Not anymore.

You'll wake them for school, but it will be so nice to enjoy that piece and quiet you will quickly realize that waking them on weekends is as painful for you as it is them. Trust me on this.

I was just thinking - WHY would you wake a child on the weekends??

  • My DD is the same way.  She has always, always fought sleep and it makes.me.insane.
  • Why would I wake them one w/es? Simply because I can...and to make them mow the lawn :o)

my parents used to wake me up by 9am every Sunday to eat breakfast, start chores, 730 on Saturdays and drag my butt to church. :( I was so happy when I moved out after highschool. I'm not sure that I'll wake my kids on the w/e, I will probably be sleeping in with them!
