My husband is currently deployed and so I haven't had to get back on birth control yet. Just wondering which ones would have the least impact on my milk supply. My midwife wants me to come back into the office in September to discuss our options before my hubby returns sometime in November. I just want to go into our appointment with a little insight on what has worked best for others. I have used Mirena in the past so I'm comfortable with IUD's. Thanks in advance!
Re: Preferred birth control while breast feeding
We are currently using LAM and will move to NFP when DS starts solids in a few weeks. Obviously this has no effect on milk supply.
ABC methods that have little to no effect on supply include:
progesterone-only pill
copper IUD
condoms
ETA: Implanon also. There's an article on KellyMom detailing all of the methods. Someone posted it yesterday.
Ditto all of the above : )
Currently going through our second deployment. Can't wait for Zoe to meet her daddy!
