Breastfeeding

I just realized I didn't nurse all day!

Ok I have a 10 month old and I just realized he didn't nurse all day is that bad. We were running all day and at bedtime I realized he hadn't nursed all day. I did nurse him at bed time like I always do but I am worried it is going to affect my supply. An advice on how to not forget we are not on a schedule never have been so thats how I think we forgot I feel so bad for him Thank you

  • Did your son want to nurse? If he went all day, he could be self weaning.

I think it really depends on how often you want to BF him. He's at that age where you don't have to EBF on demand anymore, unless you want to. I know a lot of women pare down the nursing to mornings and at night, so you could try and develop a routine. Maybe first thing in the morning BF him or nurse him to sleep like you did the other night? :)

  • 10 mo is pretty young to self wean.  How many times do you normally nurse him?  Does he eat full meals of solids?

  • What did he have for liquids all day?  In this heat, he could easily dehydrate.  Set a timer on your phone when you are out running errands if you are forgetful.

  • He drank water and apple juice with his meals so not to worried about dehydrations I do like the idea of setting an alarm on my phone. He eats three meals of solids mostly just what we are eating he won't let us eat or drink unless he is eating or drinking too. Thank you for all the advice

He sounds like an early to wean boy!  Maybe he's just transitioning to nighttime feedings only.
