what do you eat when your not hungry (but starving at the same time)

This has been the worst this week. I haven't really been hungry but at the same time I HAVE to eat, and have to eat NOW. I hate it. When I pick the wrong thing it doesn't sit well and I'm in even worse shape then I was before. Toast/jelly seems to works most of the time but I can't live off of that! So what does the trick for you?

  • Cereal has been my go-to, as well.  I feel your pain, though.  Nothng really sounds good, but you do need to eat...

  • Cereal, english muffins with pb, or pasta. Most boring diet ever, but it gets food in me.
  • Triscuits have been doing ok for me... Cereal for sure... Sometimes I just simply make myself eat something nausea be damned, so far it has been ok.

  • Also all great things I go to. I guess I feel bad for my choices/lack of quality in my foods lately. As long I get my PNV and V8 daily I guess I shouldn't feel too bad. I hope we all get over this soon!

  • When I felt like that I ate a lot of toast, pasta, and bean burritos.  Bland carbs seemed to work.

    I have been sticking with cereal most of the time. But I have found that instant white rice is wonderful when I can't keep anything else down.

  • Pretzels

    Apple with peanut butter (recommended by my midwife)

    Chinese sweet & sour chicken with or without sauce (a frequent craving.) Chicken in general... it's the only meat I can eat pretty reliably these days. 

    Rice (brown, white, yellow...) 

    Bagel & cream cheese

    Yogurt or Greek yogurt

    Dry cereal

    Sour candy

    Cashews

    Pierogies 

    Most fruits 

    Toast & jelly works for me too :) 

    I'm not claiming these are all the most healthful choices, just what has been working for me. They have been helping me keep the m/s under control somewhat.

  • Applesauce has been my lifesaver for these moments! But sometimes I can get down yogurt, melted cheese on toast, and/or a bowl of rice.

  • toast with butter if its real bad, like I can't move and I call out to dH I need to eat right now or I will throw up.

    But I also have found that an owens biscuit w/ sausage sits really well.  I know they are probably awful for you, but its what is working right now. They are in the freezer/breakfast isle.  49 seconds in our microwave and I'm good to go.

  • Watermelon or apples.  Plus it's been so hott out that watermelon always just sounds sooooo good!  And, it's how I'm getting my water intake; I've been drinking a bottle of water a day, but it's still hard to get in more water.

  • Mashed potatoes have been a staple in my diet these days. As has corn on the cob. I also keep almonds on hand.

  • I do a fruit smoothie with frozen berries, a bannana and some yogurt.

    Before long my stomach starts growling (every couple hours) and then I just try to eat something.

    Toast with butter and creamy peanut butter.....I seriously went through a loaf in 2 1/2 days this week Embarrassed
  • I am usually like that at dinner time, usually I will have a snack of fruit or some cereal before deciding on dinner then it makes me want food. 
  • One of my go-to pregnancy meals has been ramen noodles. I cook them in chicken broth (sometimes mixed with water if it seems to chicken-y) and then add a little soy sauce at the end. I throw away the flavor packets (since they consist of chemicals and who-knows-what) so it's basically just noodles. There's something about ramen that really soothes my stomach, and the salty soy sauce works too.
