YAY!! I get to wear flip flops to work!

I work in a government office and we have a very strict dress code. Our HR lady overheard me saying how I haven't been able to wear loafers for over a month because my feet are swollen, I've been wearing mules, and how by the end of the day for the last week or so, my feet don't even fit in my mules! I got an e-mail from her this afternoon saying I can wear flip flops until I have my babies. Yay!

  last week at work the VP of HR sent out a reminder about the dress code and it said no flip flops-I don't care and have been breaking the rules everyday!

I said this last week, but I remain in complete awe of the fact that you're still working.  I can barely wrap my head around the concept.  You deserve flip-flops!

Oh, thanks!!  It's definitely gotten hard the last couple of weeks but I'm hanging in there.  I'd really like to work until these babies come but if I hit 38 weeks, I might have to bow out.

that's awesome! i have been exclusively wearing my sandals to work the last 3 weeks, lol.

my feet have gotten wider and now they are always a little swollen/puffy, so nothing else fits!

Congrats on getting official permission! That's terrific.

I bought a "fancy" pair of flip-flops on sale at 9 West to wear. They strap part is not too thin, so with pants on they look a little more professional (kind of). No one seems to mind, since they're more or less professional looking. And the strap part has elastic where it connects to the sole, so they grow when my feet swell in the afternoon!
