horrible horrible back pain

Well this morning I got out of bed and had the worst back pain in my entire life and it is now after 4pm and it is still hurting horribly with no signs of letting up. It goes from my mid back all the way down to my lower back, on both sides.... I am wondering if this happens in pregnancy... my period is due to start Tuesday.. so if I am pregnant I am only about 3 1/2 weeks along so would I have this pain so early?? Also, if it is from pregnancy, is it safe to use a heating pad on it?

I'd call your doctor....probably not even an ob, just your general practitioner. If it's bearable I would wait till the morning. I certainly wouldn't say it's a sign that you're pregnant.

i had pretty bad back pain early on. have you tried tylenol?

If you are pregnant I would think this would be worrisome, otherwise, I would think it is bad period cramps... GL to you!
