Getting Milk Fat Off Storage Bottle

So I have been pumping through my engorgement and have been refridgerating it (it has only been 4 days now.)  I am getting ready to freeze some of this.  In doing so, I notice that the milk fat sticks to the bottle.  I know not to shake it and I swirl it but some will just not come off.  Can I use a clean finger to get it off and then swirl? I am trying to get them into the milk storage bags for the freezer and don't want to lose that important milk fat!  TIA!

Re: Getting Milk Fat Off Storage Bottle

  • I run mine under water - not cold, but not hot...it "melts" right off and mixes in. Then I pour into the bag and freeze flat. I would not use my finger - eliminate possible contamination.

  • I also run under room temp water and it comes right off.  You can also hold your hand around the bottle and your body warmth will melt it off.

  • What good ideas!  Never thought of either of these...thanks so much.  I will give these a try.
