Pregnant after IF

Cysts?

In all the worry this morning over the fetal development, I didn't even ask my RE.  He said there was a 14mm cyst on my right ovary.  This is pretty common, right?  Do they do anything besides just watch them?

Re: Cysts?

  • My RE said it was very common. I had one about that size and they just kept an eye on it. The nurse did tell me that I might feel more cramping or stretching feeling on that side and it would be due to the cyst.

  • I had one on each side about that side which they thought was from slight overstimming.  I was told to expect pain, but didn't really feel too much.  Both have been gone for awhile.

  • I had a large one on my left ovary (40 mm). They do not do anything because it is GOOD to have the cyst. It is what is producing progesterone, which is helpful until the placenta takes over.

Mine was painful on a few occassions, but knowing that it was a "good" pain made it easier. Good luck!

My doctor also told me this. They said it was nothing to worry about.
