Update on DD's Child Development & Behavioral Evaluation

I received the confirmation email today - on Aug 15th we have the medical and psychological ones and the speech one is on the 16th - we have the parent conference the afternoon of the 16th in which they will discuss evaluation results and recommendations.

I am nervous but so ready for this to happen.  This has been a very long process from my 1st call to the peds office way back in April.

**For those that don't know/remember, DD was born with a brain injury and based on how she did in PreK this past year, we are guessing she is about a year behind in almost all areas including behavioral.  DH and I would also not be surprised with an ADHD diagnosis on top of anything else - it runs rampant in my family and she shows some of the same behaviors but then again, it could just be that she is about a year behind in how she acts. 

She will be repeating PreK this year and continuing on in her speech class so hopefully - with whatever we learn on the 16th - we can get her on a good track and get  her any extra help she needs to succeed and start Kindergarten in Fall 2012.

I know (from firsthand experience) it can be a scary path to go down, but knowledge is power, esp. when it comes to your child... good luck!!
