Clean House and No Home Visit

I spent the whole day yesterday making my house spotless.  I don't think it's ever been so clean.  Unfortunately, there won't be a home visit, because the woman doing our homestudy had a death in her family.  I'm certainly not mad she can't make it, but it is a shame to have such a clean home and no one to see it.  I hope we can reschedule soon.

Re: Clean House and No Home Visit

  • The same thing happened to us for our first homestudy visit.  We had done extra cleaning over the weekend in prep for a Monday visit and we got an email early afternoon saying she wouldn't be coming due to an emerg with a child placement.  When we rescheduled - the house was certainly clean but I wasn't as nervous and the visit was prob more relaxing.
Best wishes for the reschedule and continued process.
  • We had the same thing.  We spent four or five hours cleaning.  The next meeting was a relief to us because it was at the agency.  Our house isn't filthy or anything, but I'd rather meet at the agency than our home.

  • Look on the bright side, you now have a super clean home that you can relax in.  There's nothing more relaxing to me than a clean house.  Now there's more time to do other stuff..like research adoption online. LOL!!
