1st Trimester

I'm getting a little nervous...

Hello ladies, I haven't posted on here yet, just been lurking for awhile.  I'm 12 weeks pregnant with our 2nd baby. Yesterday I had just a little bit of pink spotting, just once and it went away.  I was a little concerned, but thought I'd wait and see if it happened again.  I've been fine all day today, then tonight I've had some cramping and just a tiny bit more pink, hardly even noticeable if I wasn't watching for it.  I'm starting to get nervous, I think I'll call the doctor's office in the morning. I just want to know my baby is ok.  Anyone else had anything similar happen?  Thanks for letting me share, I guess just need some advice and comfort since I can't call the dr. until the morning. :)

What are common reasons for bleeding in the first half of pregnancy?

    https://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnancycomplications/bleedingduringpreg.html

Since bleeding that occurs in the first half of pregnancy is so common (20-30%), many wonder what the causes are besides some of the complications already mentioned. Bleeding can occur in early pregnancy due to the following factors, aside from the above mentioned complications:

    • Implantation bleeding can occur anywhere from 6-12 days after possible conception. Every woman will experience implantation bleeding differently?some will lightly spot for a few hours, while others may have some light spotting for a couple of days.
    • Some type of infection in the pelvic cavity or urinary tract may cause bleeding.
    • After intercourse some women may bleed because the cervix is very tender and sensitive. You should discontinue intercourse until you have been seen by your doctor. This is to prevent any further irritation?having normal sexual intercourse does not cause a miscarriage.

    Best of luck!

  • At 8 weeks I passed a small (pea-sized) clot and called my Dr the following morning.  They saw me same day for an ultrasound (confirming everything is fine.)  The Dr mentioned spotting of brownish or yellowish mucous is ok as long as it's not bright red.  May be worth getting checked to ease your mind.  Best of Luck.
