Replacing elastic - GM?

I bought some GM used, and the elastic is all stretched out.

Anyone know if it's possible to replace the elastic? If so... how?

Bummed. Huh?

Re: Replacing elastic - GM?

  • I have done this a few times to GMs...I end up cutting a small slit using the seam ripper in the OBV (careful not to go all the way through!) and then seam ripping out the stitches holding down the elastic. I do that on all 4 spots and then pull the elastic out. I replace the elastic and then zig zag stitch it down. I then hand stitch closed my little seam-ripped-open holes.

  • Thanks. I'm going to give it a shot.

Oh well, I got a pretty good deal on them, so I guess I was half expecting something to be wrong. Other than that the CV is worn pretty bad over the elastic on one of them, i think that the shot stretchiness is the only problem.

But to continue complaining, I'd love to give it a shot right now, but my back is thrown out and can't make it to the store. Boo!!!
