This name is starting to grow on me for a little girl.  What do you think of this name for a girl?  Is it more of a last name, boy name..ect?

All I can think of is Drugs Delaney from the movie Outside Providence.

Teacher: "What's wrong with you, Delaney?"

Drugs Delaney: "I'm totally f*cked, man!"

everybody laughed like a bastard.

 

I love that movie.

I think it is an adorable name for a girl.  It reminds me of the Jimmy Buffett song "Delaney Talks to Statues" which I love.

Love for a girl! I'm into nicknames and boy names for girls (my daughter is Charlotte, but we have always called her Charley). I would probably use Laney as a nickname.

Yeah I was thinking Laney is cute for a little girl and then she always has her full names to use when she is older.  I like when the first and middle name start the same letter, or when the first name and last name start with the first letter...like the flow.  I am giving my first born daughter my maiden name which starts with a D, so using Delaney would work out well.  I will have to keep it in mind.

I know someone named Delaney. I think it is a good name. It is unique and pretty.

I used to love the combo Delaney Elizabeth when I was kid.  There was a book called "Have a Heart, Cupid Delaney" that I loved and the girl went by Delaney.

Such a pretty name.  Not trendy, and it's a name that sounds good at all ages.

a little biased cuz I have a Delaney Grace.  I find people either love it or give me a weird look. We were planning on calling her Laney as a nn but it never stuck.  My mom started calling her Dee and now we all do, that and Lady Dee!  And that is just who she is!

Only think is that is in the top 200 on the SS list..it seems to be going up and down in the 100s and 200s since 2000.  Just wonder if it will ever get out of control.

I actually never liked the name Delaney when I was pregnant. There's a Dulaney Valley Road and High School in my area so I always thought of that. However, there was an adorable little girl named Delanie at my DD's first daycare we went to and she was so sweet to Taylor that it changed my opinion. I also think nn Laney is cute.

I have loved the name Delaney since I was a kid. I have only known girls with the name so go with it!
