I heard it last week at 10w2d, and again last night right at 11w. For the record, I've got a LOT of fluff around the middle, so was pretty surprised to catch it that early.
The readout wasn't accurate, though. It kept saying the heartrate was in the 150s-160s, but counting it out showed it to actually be around 180bpm.

I have the 2 megahertz (sp?) and heard it when I was 9 w 3 d I think? But even now it's hard to find it consistently. I have to be lying on the couch with my head elevated - like laying on the arm rest - and have eaten and emptied my bladder even though they suggest having a full bladder. I found it on the lower left side, like right at my pubic bone level and it's really easy to scan over even now.

OP I'm jumping on your post, sorry... how do you know if it's the baby's HB or yours?
Your own heartrate is slower, and you can easily tell it's yours by feeling your own pulse. The monitor is probably going to say your rate is something crazy like 125 (which is the default of the doppler).
Your baby's heartbeat is a LOT faster and people say it sounds like a galloping horse, although my own horse has never sounded like that while galloping. I think it sounds more like a full-tilt steam train.

Around 8.5 weeks. I had th push down hard and angle the probe toward my feet to find it.....but sure enough, there it was! I can find it much quicker now.

10w 2d for me. On 10w 1d, I tried for over an hour and heard nothing. I have the 3mhz one, so I was a little worried. I tried again the next morning, 30 minutes after I woke up (which I guess is prime time for listening) and I pushed hard and directly along my pubic bone (in line with my belly button), and I heard it. It fluctuated between 125bmp-130bpm for the minute I listened to it. You do have to press pretty hard though, I think that's what I didn't realize the first time...like, it hurt when I was doing it the time that I did hear it. If you don't find it right away, don't worry! It was really, really hard for me to find it, and I worried for nothing because this week I have been the most sick out of my whole pregnancy thus far
EDIT: I also had a full bladder, so I think that helped.
I tried when I got it at 9 weeks 6 days and I couldn't find it. Tried again at 10 weeks (the next day) and I found it! It takes me 10-15 minutes to find it everytime.

It sounds different and the baby's will be almost double what yours should be. There is a youtube video that shows your HB with sound VS baby's.
