February 2012 Moms

Feel like I'm growing overnight!

Does anyone else feel like their tummy is just growing overnight!? Every morning I awake to a new and more profound protrusion in the belly region. It first started out on the lower left side, then expanded to the right, and now it's creeping up to my belly button and beyond! The hubby can feel the changes too. I think today is the LAST day I will be wearing my regular jeans without unbottoning them - ugh I just feel so uncomfortable when trying to find something to wear.

This morning, I had on the most amazing pair of stretchy, comfy light khaki dress pants. The ketchup packet from Chik-Fil-a exploded in the car...needless to say, I had to go home and squeezed into my jeans. I pray that ketchup comes out in the wash. Happy growing to all you ladies out there who are feeling the same way I am!

Re: Feel like I'm growing overnight!

  • I decided this summer would be a summer of dresses, and I'm so glad I did. I haven't put on real pants in at least a week. Today I'm wearing a jersey-knit skirt that is AWESOME. Of course, if I don't remember to keep it all sucked in, I look about 4 months pregnant, but at least I'm comfortable.

  • My uterus popped out like a week ago it seems and it's getting like a little bigger every day. To top it off, my belly above it seems to get more bloated/bigger every day, as if it's pushing my fat/organs up, haha...

Very excited to be in maternity clothes! This in-between stage is awkward. Especially when you work in an office building with 200+ people and most people don't know you're pregnant.

  • Yea, I have bought a lot of dresses too. I haven't been able to button my pants for weeks, and now I can't even zip some of them. The bella band is my best friend, but I have also started to buy some maternity pants! I definitely feel like I am growing. I also wear my pants a little higher, but still below my belly button, so it is in the direct line of where the bloat/uterus is expanding, so it's been uncomfortable for a while!

  • I have to agree. I put on a pair of shorts for bed and felt like the were going to cut me in half! Not really looking forward to having to buy stretchy pants so soon.

  • I have worn dresses occasionaly, but I work in a research lab, so we really aren't supposed to wear anything that shows leg skin for safety reasons. I need to break down and get a bella band; do they sell them in stores or would I need to order one online?

I'm such a cheapo, I hate to spend money unless it's necessary - I will deem this a necessity.

  • Yeah - I've definitly started noticing differences in the past few days.  I haven't worn normal pants in over a week - these maternity pants are HEAVENLY.

  • I apparently grew last week - my mom saw me and said that she could tell.  Once I raided my SIL's maternity clothes and came away with a bunch of stuff, I've switched almost exclusively to maternity.  I don't really need it - my reg clothes and bella bands have been fine - but the comfort it amazing.

I bought mine at target for 16 bucks, but I hear a lot of people on here cut old camis to make one. I am going to try this too, to make a black one for work...
