December 2010 Moms

I have screamed swear words at my DD...

In my head.

I can relate to the author thinking things to myself when dealing with my teenage daughter...it's the only thing keeping me from throwing stuff and banging my head (or her head) against the door.

[disclaimer: given the recent CPS call I must add that I have never verbally physically or emotionally abused my child]

Re: I have screamed swear words at my DD...

  • Given that g is my only child and I haven't had to deal with a teenager yet...I can't quite relate although I can only imagine that this is what kept my mother from killing me when I was a teenager.

  • I can definitely see this happening with me as well.  My 5yo daughter is already a huge challenge.  Sometimes I think she's a teenager stuck in a little girl's body.

  • While I cannot relate in the way of I do not have a teenage I can say I'm thankful to have 2 boys. I know what I was like as a teenage girl and I didn't make my life or anyone elses around me very easy.

Yeah, not really. They're difficult in different ways.

  • HILARIOUS!!  DS#1 has gotten a few words mummbled at him when he's not in the room ...usually after he's done something that just boggles my mind.  ...even for a 6 1/2  yr old
