Hey everyone! I haven't been on the Bump in over a week because of work, plus my MIL was in the hospital (she's back again now) and my grandfather passed I'm trying to stay positive and focus on the little baby growing in me!
Question: My second appointment is on Wednesday. Has anyone had their second yet? What did they do, just a quick check up? I got some bloodwork done, so I'm sure we will go over that, but I can't think of anything else.
Vent: What the HECK is with my face/body breaking out? My skin was one thing I was never self consious about and now it is going bazerk! My back, chest, shoulders, face, it is crazy. I know I have had a really stressful week, but this is ridiculous! Anyone find anything that helps?

Re: A question and a vent...
All they did at mine was tried to find the heartbeat with the doppler (they couldn't it was too early) and then asked if I had any questions. It was simple and fast.
Oh, and I'm right there with you. My face looks awful! Not like little red bumps, but like massive cystic acne pimples, I'm soooo irritated!
Eek! You've had a rough week. I 'm so sorry for the passing of your grandfather. I lost mine last year, and it's still tough at times.
The good news: 2nd appts are a breeze (and most of your monthly appts from here until you switch to 2 week appts) are pretty much all the same: weight, pee in a cup, BP, external tummy exam, doppler and questions concerns. you'll have GD testing around 25 weeks, and may have other things pop-up but for the most part, that's about it. Unless you're high risk or have other concerns.
bad news: breaking out like a teenager is par for the course. So are a lot of other crazy things your body will go through. Try to use neutrogena or other soaps that don't have chemicals but are good at clearing away oil. I even use an exofoliant(sp) when I'm especially oily. If you get big, painful breakout bumps erthromycin is safe, but I think that is for extreme cases.
GL.
