Baby Names

*526SadieSadie*

I couldn't believe it when I saw your girl name. That's my mom's name and I've never in my life ran into another one spelled the same way... I was kind of excited. :) I've only met one other spelled Joya. Are you Italian? It's very pretty and different!

  • PHEW!  I thought I was getting called out! LoL

We are VERY Italian. lol My maiden name is Giorgi, my married name is DeLuca.  I love the way it looks and the way it's pronounced!

My name is Gianna and I thought it would be cool to pass on an Italian "G" name to my daughter.  Christine is my mom's name (and my MN) and Elisabeth pays homage to my best friend (Lisa) and my SIL (Elizabeth)

You are so sweet, that made my day!! Big Smile

  • Get ready for LOTS of mispronunciations, my mom's heard them all from Gloria to "Juuwa"... but who cares! She's learned to love having such a unique name.

  • Oh I know!  My names has been mispronounced in some pretty horrific ways, too!

    Gee-anna

    Guy-anna

    G-OH-nuh

    Gina

    Giovanna (WTF??)

If I could deal with it, she can too lol

My cousins Chira and Mariesa got their names butchered, too.  A teacher once called Chira "chair".  I can only imagine the eye-roll that woman got.
