February 2012 Moms

This is no longer a puke-free pregnancy...

So, I've had queasiness and lots of aversions since about 5 weeks, and then added gagging and dry heaving at 10 weeks, and now at almost 12 weeks I just threw up the bagel (which is normally my least nausea-inducing food) that I had for breakfast almost 2 hours ago.

So, this is new territory for me. Those who have been through this: what do I do now? Try and eat again right away, or wait until I feel hungry?

Thank you in advance for any responses :)

  • I have no suggestions, but just wanted to say I'm sorry!  That sucks!  Hopefully it's a one time thing.

  • Sorry you are feeling so crappy. I am usually able to eat again pretty quickly after I puke. Just try to find anything that sounds good to you. I think having some food in your tummy really helps...

  • Glad I'm not the only one feeling that way so late on.  My stomach felt fine until about 9 1/2 weeks.  Now even the piece of toast I had for breakfast was gross.  I thought I was going to make it through the first trimester puke free...oh well.

    Hope you feel better!

  • I was puke free then for about a week (about wk7) i was sick everyday, only in the mornings, then i was good until this morning...the only thing that helps make me feel the least bit better is a popsicle.  Once i get that in me and am feeling better, i try to eat some crackers and slowly put food back in me, that way i don't feel sick again...That's what i do...good luck! I know it sucks!!!

  • I'm still puking every day, and popsicles help me too.

  • Try and wait a little bit, maybe 45 mins and eat something very bland, like a piece of plain toast or some saltines, or you can sip some gatorade. All tips from my "at home" nurse
