Cramps but no period

I'm on day 4 of menstrual-like cramps, but no period.  I'm EBFing and AF hasn't returned yet, but I wonder if maybe this is my body gearing up for its return?  I never had anything like this happen after my other 2 kids were born so I'm a bit at a loss.  Did anyone else have "phantom" period symptoms before AF finally returned?  Or any bright ideas on what else could be going on?  I'm going insane.

    Same here I got so worried I was pregnant (we use protection but still) and took a pregnancy test.

    I also didn't experience this with the previous two pregnancies. I would either like it to just start or not have all this "OMG its going to start and I don't have pads with me" symptoms.

    I had a cramps and felt exactly like I was going to get my period several times while BFing Drew, but it never came.  I remember people on the boards talking about it at that time and lots of other women had the same experience - PMS type symptoms but on period.  I guess it's kinda normal.
