So, my LO is still in her original CHICCO carseat. its weight limit is 30 lbs i believe. I am wondering when to switch to the convertable car seat? Do i keep her in the original one ( IDK exactly the name to call it, its the one that came as aprt of the travel system with the stroller). until she is 30 lbs? BC it is goign to take her a really long time to get out of that thing since she is only 14 lbs if thats the case? most of my other mom friends have the LO in the convertable seat @ abotu a year old? but I am almsot positive my daughter will not even be 20 lbs at that p[oint. just am not exactly sure when to transition. Sorry if its long and confusing. TIA!!!

We will keep our son in the infant seat until he outgrows it length wise or weight wise. We all have the Chicco Keyfit which is 30 lbs and 30".
Currently our son is probably 18 pounds and just over 26". I would predict that this seat would last us at least until 18 months if not longer. I'm sure he'll outgrow the length requirements before the weight.
I like the convenience of the infant seat, and although I'm getting to the point of not wanting to take it out of the car every time, it makes it nice that we still only need one car seat since we have two bases so we can easily move the seat from car to car.
Check the height limit too. We went straight to a convertible and skipped the infant seat step with DD#2, but with #1 she out grew her infant seat height wise way before she came near the weight limit. Your seat my have a higher limit though but before that it's personal preference.
We switched to the convertible because it's more comfortable and has a higher limit for RF.
Right - don't forget about the height limit. My DD is only 18 lbs but 29 inches. She has a chicco keyfit and the limit is 22 lbs 30 inches. Since she is so close to the height limit we're switching her to a convertible seat now. I wouldn't rush to switch your baby until they're close to the limit unless they're really uncomfortable or something.
I miss our infant seat terribly, and if I still had it, we would be using it. Ours went to 30lbs and 32 inches. So, DS would still fit in it. My DD would have fit in it until she was almost 2, but we switched her before then.
I loved that thing, and I wished I had promised it to another family. Anyway, as long as she is within the guidelines, then you don't have to switch.
