So far I have been using the Medela storage bags. For now I am just stocking the freezer, we have not defrosted any to use yet. I don't go back to work for another 6 weeks, so it will be a bit before we start defrosting. I am nearly out of bags, and I was debating between the Medela bags and the Lansinoh bags. It seems to be that in the past the Lansinoh bags were the way to go, but recently people have been having lots of issues with those bags leaking.
Anyone have any experience yet with either of these bags? I'd hate to loose all that I'm pumping now for when I go back to work. Thanks!
Re: Breastmilk Storage Bag Question
I EP'd for 6 months and am just busting into my freezer stash now. I started out using the medela bags and then went to lanisoh for cost.
I've had 1 medela bag leak out of about 100 or 150, and 1 lanisoh bag leak out of the first 5 or so I've defrosted. I always defrost them standing up in a tupperware cannister so that if they do leak, I don't lose the milk, so neither time was a tradgedy.
The lanisoh bags defrost faster since they are spread out more with more surface area, but I do like the "feel" of the medela bags better when pouring out of them. Not worth double the price though.
