Tylenol during labor?

My doctor said no need to take Tylenol or anything during labor, but I have read a few posts about where some people have taken pain medication while they were still at home.  I don't plan to, but was just wondering why people take it if they think they are having labor pains?  Is it really okay to take it during labor?  I didn't ask my doctor why, but I wasn't really planning to take it anyway....

  • I think "no need" means it's sort of like bailing out a sinking ship with a teaspoon.

I can't imagine it would really cause any problems, though.

    LOL!

  • Regular Tylenol never helped my contractions at home. Didn't even phase them. I just focused on breathing or would distract myself with cleaning or doing something on the computer or with DD.

This I think......Tylenol doesn't work on a headache for me, let alone labor pains.....
