Anyone know anyone or have atrial fibrilation? DH has had it for a while and is thinking about having ablation done to correct it. Just wanted to know if anyone had any personal experiences with it. Thanks!
My mom has an atrial fibrillation. She had an ablation done a few years ago and it worked for a while, but she eventually had to go back on strong meds to control it because the afib came back and the source of the afib was too diffuse to treat with another ablation. She also has other cardiac issues and had a pacemaker implanted a couple of years ago. I don't think her experience is typical.
As far as the procedure and her recovery, it was relatively quick. My mom had felt ill for a long time before she had the ablation but it had come on so gradually that it was quite a revelation for her to suddenly feel healthy again and realize just how much the afib had been affecting her life.
Re: Random Post... a fib
LOL! OP - I work on a cardiac unit if you have any specific questions....
