Crib arrangement... tell me about yours

So we almost have DD moved 100% into her big girl room and we are sitting in the empty soon to be twin nursery trying to decide where we are going to put the stuff we ordered.  In my head I was going to put the cribs in an L shape in the right hand corner...  But when we actually measured it wont work!  Part of a crib will be covering the air vent (or it will be under the crib) and i dont think we should probably do that.

So.. then another option would be on opposite walls from each other.  Then another option might be to NOT get the convertible crib we ordered but change to a sleigh style and have the short ends up against the walls and have them parallel to each other.

I dont think a crib should be in front of or touching a window...  hmmm

For now, ours are short end to short end along the longest wall in their bedroom. There's space between them but, eventually, I think we'll need to move the cribs to opposite sides of the room. My 2 are climbers and I don't want anyone getting the bright idea of climbing into the other crib. Lol!

  • we have more of the sleigh style cribs you are talking about - also with the short ends at the wall, parallel to each other.  We chose this arrangement because of windows, vents, etc.  We also decided against convertibles because they converted into full sized beds, and that doesn't fit our long term needs.  We'll need twins or bunk beds.

  • We thought about doing the L shape, but then it didn't work out because one crib blocked half of the other.  So we have ours parallel and one of them touches a window.  Here is a pic of how they are set up:

This, and it works out quite nicely :)

  • Our room is quite small so we have few options. The babies are sleeping so I can't go take a picture, but we have a rectangle shaped room and the cribs are both sleigh with the long side against the long walls. The furthest short wall has a window which ends up being right between the 2 cribs (just a bit of crib goes over window.) Under the window between the cribs is a small table with the lamp & monitor. We then have a dresser for each baby at the end of their crib.

That was a long explanation, but wanted to give a visual =)

  • is it weird to NOT have a sleigh and put the short ends against the wall?  i feel like that is weird... and u could only access from the other side.

im debating on if i really want to hassle figuring out how to return the cribs i just waited 6 weeks to come off backorder (but havent picked up!)  and got 20% discount for them being late.....

    :)

  • we are not doing convertibles b/c it's a small room and after the cribs will be twin or bunk beds, not full size beds. we are starting off with one crib. we will slide over the glider and remove nightstand and add in a second crib parallel to the first one. we opted for this configuration for now to keep babies away from windows. their changing table/dresser is on the opposite wall from the end of the crib.
