Phew! Well, I was wondering if anyone can help me out. DH and I had sex Saturday night and immediately after I started spotting. I didn't call the doctor right away because I thought it was pretty normal. Sunday I still had some slight spotting so I called the doctor and she said it's probably just from the cervix being so vascular and that it can happen during pregnancy but to abstain from intercourse until futher notice. She also wanted me to call her if the spotting continued into the next day, which it did. She examined me and wasn't concerned since the blood looked old (brown) but she did want me to get my ultrasound sooner than 20 weeks.
Doctor called back today with the u/s results. It showed a subchorionic hemorrhage and she thinks that is why I was spotting. I am wondering if any of you have dealt with SCH before? I've read that no one knows the cause of SCH, but why would I have bleeding only after sex if SCH isn't caused by sex? Also, I wasn't told to avoid any activity. She doesn't seem concerned about it and said it can just go away on its own, so I shouldn't be worried, right? I was a little concerned since I'm not in the first trimester anymore and I've read that that's when they are most likely to occur.
Doc also said my cervix is 3.2 cm and they like to see it more at about 3.5 cm. I didn't know that could make a difference, but now that I know it does I wonder what can cause that? She didn't elaborate too much on that. Or maybe she did but I was too preoccupied with the word "hemorrhage" that I don't remember anything else.
I am to follow up in about 3.5 weeks and then get the anatomy scan.
Any info you have to offer is greatly appreciated! TIA!
