Just a tip for when taking the kids out and about especially to super crowded places (like Disneyland)WRITE YOUR CELL PHONE NUMBER AND NAME ON YOUR KIDS ARM! Get a safety tattoo or use a sharpie. Just do it and make sure it remains legible (ours was smudged a bit)My 5 year old was walking behind me with MIL and at one point he told her he was going to go walk with his cousin who was up ahead of me with my DH. As I was walking my MIL caught up to me and I didn't see DS with her. I did a quick kid head count and I didn't have my 7 kids in my sight! I yelled for my DH and we both took off running. Thank God we found him at the bench we were normally regrouping at as we enter/leave. He was about to ask a cast member for help when I found him. But if we were separated longer, the number on his arm wasn't clear so who know what could have happened.
Re: PSA: Kids in crowded places.
Oh how scary!
What a good idea! Thank you!
How scary. Riley is a runner and a wandering off kind of kid. I can see this happening to us at a place like that. I am so glad you found him so quickly.
TY for posting this. I had been thinking about how to mark my kid up when we went to Disneyland in December (we are getting the monkey on your back things, but JIC I was trying to decide where I should stick our number on him!).
Scary, so glad he is ok!

EJ is growing up too fast!
OMG...how scary!!
I just want to throw this out there..I've read that you shouldn't write your kids name on them or things they own because then strangers can call them by name and the kid could be confused thinking they actually know the stranger.
I have read where people write the parents name and phone number on the kids tummy...that way it's not totally visible and if the kid gets lost, they can show the cast member/employee their tummy for the #. Or you could forgo the name totally and just put the number.
I saw these on Pinterest the other day and thought they were a good idea. I am glad he is ok, That is scary, and it happens so fast!

So scary. When I was 7 or so my brother and I got separated from our parents at DL, after dark, during the parade. THe castmembers were super helpful.
For everyplace else, we might try tatoos. DS knows our name and his name and his gramma's name so if necessary, he can just tell someone.
