Almond milk

(sorry for all my posts.. I'm avoiding doing any work at work)

If you drink Almond milk (dream), do you drink the sweetened or unsweetened?  It doesn't have soy in it, right?

Just curious.. I want to make some smoothies tonight (as blueyez09 recommended) to replace his bottles.. and i want to avoid rice milk since he associates rice milk with a bottle.. maybe if there is a complete different taste he might go for it.

I have tried coconut milk before and he is not a fan.. so maybe almond milk will work.

We typically buy the Silk brand, and I just checked the carton and there is no soy. We buy the plain or vanilla flavored. DD also didn't like the coconut milk, but she drinks the almond no problem. She has also recently started drinking flax milk, but so far I can only find it at Wal-mart.

Let me know how it goes. I'd love another option for my picky eater.

  • We use Silk or Trader Joes brand. I get the original sweetened. The original unsweetened is so bland. DD doesn't mind it all, but I couldn't handle the unsweetened lol.

  • Almond dream is soy free. I use bothe sweetened and unsweetened in different thinfgs. For a smoothie I would use the sweet. I tend to use the unsweet in things like scrambled eggs or when I make chocolate milk (one of my sweet treats). GL!

  • DS drinks almond milk, it was the only dairy alternative he would ever drink (tried oat milk, hemp milk, rice milk).  I buy him the vanilla flavor, but do some cooking with the plain.  Both silk and almond breeze are sold at our grocery store.  Silk brand comes in bigger containers, but I buy 12 pks of almond breeze thru amazon subscribe and save (DS drinks a lot!) and it ends up much cheaper.
