  • Last dental visit. Started off with "are you pregnant?" because of x-ray - morphed into the hygienist going on and on about a friend who tried for a long time to get pregnant, but couldn't, until she got a new job (because of course, that's the way it works). Then, she went on about how she is not at all ready for kids. My mouth was open and full of her tools, so she couldn't see my reaction. but, when it came time to spit, I did so violently and thankfully (and I might have pretended i was spitting on her...Embarrassed).

  • Ooooh, my worst was at my OBs office for my annual lady exam this year when my OB who I love that has also been with me for the recent 2 miscarriages and 2 IUIs asked me while I was on the table in the stirrups "how's the little one".  I wasn't quite sure what to say, so I said, "well, I don't have one, that's why you see so much of me".  I knew she immediately felt horrible, (in fact she sent me a really nice hand-written card in the mail), I tried to make her feel like it was ok and she apologized profusely.  She really is wonderful in general, but that sort of ruined my day!

  • I feel like I get asked all the time but it's always "Is there a chance that you are pregnant?".  Ummm, yes I am undergoing fertility treatments so half of each month there is a chance.  I never know what to say.
