This is the second time this has happened at home. We only listen a couple of times a week now, usually. His heart rate is always 150-164 when I count. The doppler never gives a good reading. It almost always say it is in the 130's. Today when we listened his heartbeat really slowed down for a few seconds and then picked back up. I could tell he was moving around. It kind of scares me. I listened again a few minutes later and it was normal rate and regular. Does this happen to anyone else? I am going to ask my doctor about it at my appt next week- even though he has told me not to use the home doppler because it will stress me out.

I've had this happen to me a couple times, scares me so much! Sounds like his heart slowed way down, only giving a couple slow thumps, then speeds back up. When I asked my Dr. he said it was completely normal, that he's heard things like that when he does the doppler on his patients.
Because of that, I only listen now with DH and we listen for about 20 seconds or so.
