Your milk probably won't be in before you are discharged if you deliver vaginally. Even if you have a c/s, you probably want to work on latch/positioning while you have nurses LC's to help you. I guess if you are planning to exclusively pump, you could start pumping away in the hospital but it probably isn't necessary.

DS wouldn't latch so I used the hospital pump. No need to bring your own. It's one less thing to remember to grab and the hospital one worked great (it does come with all new parts so it's not like you're sharing a pump).
A lot of lactation consultants want you to bring it so they can go over it with you and give you tips on pumping along with nursing. Also, some will show you how to use the pump to stimulate things for nursing.
I am not going to bring mine when we go to L&D but will probably have my mom bring it up later or DH grab it if he runs home after the birth.
I didn't bring one. LO wouldn't latch or suck for 24 hours after he was born so they LC had me use a hospital pump to help my milk come in since I wasn't getting stimulation from LO. Fortunatly the second day in hospital LO began latching and he is now nursing like a champ.
