*sigh* I hate people today

Why is it when you go out of your way to do something nice for someone they find a way to be an a**hole about it? 

 

I offered to cover lunch for the receptionist at work today since she didn't have anyone to do it. But I told her I could from 12-1, instead of 12:30-1:30 like she normally goes.

She got huffy with me about it. But I didn't budge.

Then when she got back, I asked her if she needed anything before she answered phones. She says "Oh I have 5 minutes, SWEETHEART", all sarcastic.

*enter my side eye here*

 

I have informed management I will not be covering lunch breaks anymore.

Nice. Gotta love when you do a favor for someone and they are rude. Oh and nit picky ... Does a half hour difference really matter?

For real? That is ridiculous. Why can't people just be gracious when you help them out. Ugh.

I don't know what it is (and this is probably a flameful generalization) but everywhere I've ever worked the receptionist has had a giant ass chip on their shoulder.

I usually let a lot slide and let things roll off my back, but her comment about having 5 minutes left with the attitude would have me biting my tongue pretty hard.

She's got some balls.  If anyone ever volunteers to cover me for lunch, I thank them.  People are ridiculous sometimes.
