My husband was really sweet and bought me some frozen yogurt last night. I was going to have some today but on further inspection it said it has live active cultures and nowhere on the box does it say if its pasteurized or not. So i'm not sure if I should eat it.
Re: Is Turkey Hill Frozen Yogurt pasturized?
There are tons of products that don't used pasteurized milk. My husband and I are Vegan and we would always try to stick with unpasteurized because it's organic. Now, we definitely make sure it's pasteurized. Most of the time it won't hurt a person to eat or drink something that is unpasteurized. My husband and I have never had a problem before, but when there's a little baby involved you can n ever be too careful. So, I think the extra precaution is good.
Looks like it depends on the state where you live as to whether unpastuerized milk is legal to sell in stores or not: https://www.realmilk.com/happening.html
Thanks for the link! That's good to know!
I thought vegans didn't consume any animal products, including dairy. Isn't that the main difference between vegan and vegetarian?
Also, pasteurization is not a chemical process thus pasteurized products are still organic. It does kill the bacteria, good and bad, which is why some people choose to go unpasteurized but it is not less organic if pasteurized, it just means it's been heated.
I don't consume any animal products. I USED to. Now, it's strictly soy milk and Vegan cheese. We were vegetarian for a long time and just over the past couple of months have moved over to Veganism. I was just simply sharing with her my experience.
I must have misunderstood your post.
