149 GD fail? Sound right?

I was told I failed the one hour GD test my number was 149 but thelink to amercian preg site says its below the level? My pin prick test b4 the drink was 93-which I was told was perfect. so is my OB jumping the gun? I am not sure how to take the results. My OB tends to be over cautious at times, to the point of putting me on 2 medications I never needed. I was told to fast 12 hours b4 the test.

I failed with a 145. Then passed the 3 hour with flying colors. IMHO, it's better to play it safe than have a problem down the road.

Nope that's definitely a failure.

Two cutoff values used - 135 and 140.

Most likely you'll pass the 3 hour with flying colors!

Thanks ladies! I was planning on doing the 3 hour but just wanted to see what others may have remembered or been told.

Just make sure to eat your carb load (aka normal pregnant lady diet) on the three days prior to your 3 hour exam.  If you avoid carbs on the days before the 3 hour, it can "spuriously" elevate your results.

This exactly. Good luck and bring a snack to eat after, I was so hungry and was happy someone passed that advice along to me

I failed the one hour by only a few points and then failed the 3 hour.  I didn't have to change my diet too much - I cut back on how much juice I was drinking.  I would check my blood sugar levels every other day and I was always fine.
