1st Trimester

So this is what it's like...

I posted the other day about being 6 and a half weeks without m/s; well I guess I spoke too soon cause it definitely hit me today. I had chinese for lunch today because I was at work and we ordered delivery since we had some tornado warnings out and none of us wanted to drive. Well it tasted fine while eating it (though it was a little low on flavor) but about 20 minutes later nausea hit me like no other. I honestly thought I was going to vomit. The same thing happened with onions. It sucks because I love onions and chinese, apparently little squishy does not lol. Luckily I found something that helps my nausea...peppermint! I went out after work and purchased a huge bag of mints (the little red and white round ones) and will probably be eating those like crazy. Any other of you ladies find an unusual cure for m/s??

Mint always works well for me.  Ginger ale (Canada Dry, which has actual ginger is better than the other brands for me) and hard ginger candies.

  • Sorry you didn't get to miss out on the m/s. Bummer. (sure it wasn't just bad chinese?)

Pretty sure it wasn't bad chinese. Everybody else felt fine afterwards. The nausea went away after about an hour but is back now. I can't decide if I should try to eat or wait until it goes away.?

  • Gotcha. I would say to not let your stomach get too empty. My nausea was always worse when I had an empty stomach. Even if it doesn't sound good, snacking helps.
  • Jolly Ranchers and mints helped me.

  • mints and gummi bears...I think the low flavor in the bears, just enough to keep me from yakking.

I always kept ginger on hand. I love love love ginger. I did use the pressure point wrist bands and they totally relieved my m/s, it would come back as soon as I took them off so I kept those babies on. We even went on a cruise when I was in my first trimester of my first pregnancy, I get motion sickness in a car so I knew ship was going to be bad but those wrist bands totally worked for me. I think they work best for people with small wrists.

I wonder if it wasn't MSG...? That could have made you sick and nobody else especially while your pregnant.
