Daycare recommendations

Any recommendations are welcomed, but we're pretty sure we'll need in-home.  We live around were 45 and 130 intersect so something in that general area would be best.  I also work in Georgetown so that is also a possibility as well.

The long story...

I can't believe I'm in this situation (well I can, I just didn't want to be).  Our current in-home daycare provider just told me today that she will not be available for us in August like I had thought.  So, that leaves us one month until I need care and no idea where to start.  We were getting an amazing deal with her not only in price but flexibility.  That's really beside the point though.

We're in a weird situation because usually DH stays home with her, but he's a musician, travels frequently, and without consistency.  Meaning, he's not gone the same days every week or every month (usually 4-6 days/month).  So we are needing someone that would be willing to work, almost, on an as needed basis.  Previously, we had a set fee and we got a set amount of days for that month based on our needs.  We would let her know a month in advance and if there was a day she wasn't available we made other arrangements.  I know, we were spoiled.  We can't do a set part time at a daycare because his schedule is ever changing.  Therefore, we're pretty set on doing in-home because many times they are more flexible.

Re: Daycare recommendations

  • So are you saying you would just need care 4-6 days per month and you could let that person know a month in advance which days they need to work? I know a SAHM in hut to who is watching A while we go out of town. I can ask if she is interested.

Pretty much.  :/  But we can't really afford an hourly rate for 6 days a month.  We would need someone who might be willing to do a flat fee for how ever many days they are willing to offer.

eta: please ask, i would really appreciate it.

  • I have a neighbor(live in RR) who has an in home daycare who usually caters to teachers kids and/or a few part time kiddos. She takes care of her 2 grandkids so she likes to have flexibility and time off. I know that the kiddos that she had last year have moved onto a preschool setting and she might be interested in taking on somebody in your type of situation. She is wonderful! We are off of 79/Sam Bass in RR...if that might work for you then feel free to email me at erin at purewonderphotography dot com and I will put you in touch.
