July 2011 Moms

Does anyone feel over prepared?

With stuff I mean. I feel like we have every item a baby could want (and not necessarily need). When I walk into her nursery I just can't believe how many items we have! I am probably one of those crazy FTM's who thinks they need everything. I can't wait to see what we use though! Hopefully we get use out of just about everything.

(well, the only thing I can think of that I actually still want to get is the baby bjorn, but I am going to wait on that).

C'mon Grace, you are driving me nuts waiting for you!! Two and a half weeks to go... two and a half weeks to go (I keep having to tell myself that).

Re: Does anyone feel over prepared?

  • In a way... judging from nursery pics I've seen posted, I don't seem to have nearly as much stuff as other moms do. However, I had been hoping to buy/get more stuff used and do more bargain hunting, and I do feel kinda bad that we ended up getting most of it new (and much of it at full price). It was just easier that way.

  • wow I could have wrote that, right down to the Baby bjorn thing!  It's sort of overwhelming... I wonder all the time, will she like the swing, bouncer, PnP, none?!  Which item will be best for daytime naps?  Will I need these bottles or these or none?  I think we are blessed to have so many items and choices but I do think it makes the mind wonder what to do with all of it!

I'm with you guys....not only do I have everything, but everything is prepared and ready.  Since I was on preterm labor watch, I really thought she would be here by now.  The waiting is worse with nothing to do!

I totally agree. I am sitting at home basically all day (on summer break) and I have already done everthing it seems! And, there is only so much cleaning that can be done, lol. I am just impatiently waiting for LO to make her appearance. I have my first internal check today so I am hoping there is some sort of progress (not that it means anything, but it would be nice to know if my body is preparing).

  • Yes, I am over prepared and now I feel bored with nothing to do but wait. I wish she would get here already. I know I'll look back on this and miss the free time, but for now, I am going stir crazy!

  • If you can afford it, don't feel bad. Sure, she probably won't use or like it all- but you never know which things she will like. That said, if you plan to have more kiddos, don't get rid of stuff just because she doesn't like it. You may find yourself a few years down the road wishing you had that bouncer, Bumbo or whatever it was that she absolutely hated. :) Good luck!
