putting baby cloths away, so sad/sentimental

We have a TON of cloths.  I'm trying to make my DS's room into a big boy room.  I'm so sad.  We're not sure if he's our last or not.  There are a lot of reasons it would make sense to move on as a family of four, but my heart is not ready for some reason.  DH is all for moving on.  We're getting rid of some stuff as it's so worn by the time any 3rd would be in the picture.  We may adopt in the future, but likely not a baby.  sigh!  This is hitting me harder than I thought it would...

  • Giving you hugs! I know how you feel. Giving/putting away the baby clothes feels like such a permanent thing...almost like a loss. I'm here to tell you that it's a completely normal feeling and I know alot of moms feel this way! I have 4 kids, the youngest being 3, and I JUST gave away the last of the baby stuff, his crib which has been sitting in the garage for the past year. I like to keep one outfit or memento from each baby that is really special to you. The outfit he/she wore home, a special blanket, bib, even pacifier. Seeing that little something from time to time brings back all the memories without holding on to all the physical stuff! Good luck:)

  • I am in the same place of trying to get rid of things while battling the feeling of not being done - even thought we most likely are.  Its no fun.
