Anyone else cramping and spotting after IUI?

Please tell me this doesn't mean anything bad... I have a ridiculous cervix that wants to be left the heck alone so it took three nurses to get the catheter in but I didn't have this much discomfort even after the HSG.  Anyone have this?  I am (irrationally) afraid this cramping will prevent the IUI from working...

For IUI #1 I had no cramping afterward. For this one, I had some very slight cramping, but it took longer for them to get the catheter in. It sounds like you have an irritated cervix -- perhaps call your RE just to get their opinion and to help put your mind at ease? I hope it's nothing!

I had cramping after my first IUI, but no spotting.  They told me the cramping was normal.  I bet your cervix is irritated and that's why you're spotting.  I would probably call my RE's office to let them know - but I'm sure you will be fine

Perfectly normal.  They always tell me not to worry if I have any cramping or spotting.

After my ET this time (which is just a catheter through the cervix, too) I was cramping and spotting like crazy. For "not having nerve endings" cervixes sure do bleed a lot.

Note: I know nerve endings don't cause bleeding. Just sayin'... you'd think they'd be less of a jerk at IUIs and such.

some cramping yes... no bleeding on my part though.  Just remember you still have several days before that fertilized egg makes it to your uterus... and cramping is completely normal for your body.....  lots of girls have a lot of cramping after getting their BFPs and they have beautiful healthy babies!

Like others said I think they must of irritated it hence the bleeding. I have had and still am mad bloated and crampy and I am at 6dpiui. But I don't know if it's from the Estrace and Progesterone Sup as well.

I had a ton of cramping after my IUI. They had a hard time with my cervix as well I had no spoting but my RE said I may due to the tramua he caused to my cervix. Good luck Hun hope you have a fast 2ww! P.S I didn't see SAIF/PAIF welcome in your siggy so please add it if you don't mind advice from past 3T gals. So I hope you don't mind my responds

I had severe cramping on each of the days of my IUI.  My RE told me that it was completely normal and that it was o pains and that just meant that we timed things perfectly.  I did not have spotting but I assume that is from them having trouble with your cervix.  The first IUI I had, he mentioned that I might have spotting because he had to touch my cervix so I assume your spotting is normal also.  Hope you feel better soon!

One of my docs can find my cervix easily and with those IUIs I didn't spot or cramp. The other doc can never find it, and I spotted for a day with pretty intense cramping both of those times. I think it's pretty normal!

This.  Your cervix is probably irritated from all of the attempts to get the cath in.  Try not to worry - easier said than done I know.

Thanks so much, girls.  It's a little better now but still crampy and still spotting.  I know it's normal considering how crappy my cervix is.  I am making DH stay on the couch with me and watch movies :-)
