DS turns two next month, and loves slides- particularly the type with the climber like this:
I would love to get it for him to put in our basement and use year-round, but my concern is that he will grow tired of it quickly as he gets older. How long did your kids stay entertained with this type of slide?
Re: Slides/climbers for little kids
We got this one two years ago for my then 2.5 year old, and both girls (currently 4.5 and almost 3) still love it:
Thanks! That is what I was hoping to hear. And I think you replied when I posted about the roller coaster? I am still hoping to find that used for the back yard- which would you say your kids prefer?
Here's the link for the one we have:

They LOVE that coaster! Hard to say which one is more loved...probably the coaster
H and I regularly comment that the slide we bought was probably the best money we've ever spent on a toy. We're 4 years and counting and my girls aren't even close to done with it... We got it just after DD1 turned 1. We have it inside, as well.
It is the most popular toy when we have anyone over. And when it's not in a time out (like it is right now--they like to do things with it we tell them not to do), it gets used probably every single day. They use it well beyond "climb up, slide down". It's a ship, a mountain, a fort. They get creative with stuff. Dolls and toys make regular trips down the slide.
For us, it was worth every single penny.
ETA: We have this one and it's not even fancy:
